To all Australian Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation members,
Over the last 12 months we have seen Australian members attend testings at both the Korean and US Ko Dan Ja Shim Sa, and Australia’s first ever Chil Dan (7th Dan) certificate was awarded. 2018 also saw several members travel and train internationally, strengthening our international connections.
The TAC facilitated the South East Asian Leadership Seminar (SEALS) held in Region 5. The more than 60 members attending received instruction directly from Kwan Jang Nim HC Hwang. We would like to thank Region 5, the SEALS organising committee and the TAC for the effort they put in to host an amazing event.
The 3rd World Moo Duk Kwan Youth Leadership Symposium occurred in Korea in October, during the Ko Dan Ja Shim Sa. This international event provided new information to invigorate the program here in Australia, and with the support of the TAC and the Australian Federation we look forward to this program growing to ensure the future of our Art and our organisation. The TAC and Committee see this program as an opportunity for personal growth and development. Australia was proudly represented by Mr Stephen LeHars (Region 4), who will hold the role of Australian Youth Leader for the coming 12 months.
The TAC has announced a National Camp to be held in Berry NSW in from 3 – 6 October 2019. This is a great opportunity to strengthen our connections, to forge new connections or to reconnect with old friends.
Please look at the 2019 dates for events held in your Do Jang, Region and across Australia and be part of sharing and growing our Art. Communicate and connect with others on all levels and make 2019 a wonderful MDK year.
Yours in the Moo Duk Kwan
Derek Koina
